Harley of Scotland is the best knitwear brand you've never heard of. That's because they've mainly focused on manufacturing premium quality sweaters for other big designer names since they were founded in 1929. If you've ever seen a beautifully crafted, made-in-Scotland sweater walking down the runway, or on the shelves of a luxury boutique, chances are it was produced by Harley of Scotland. We decided to go straight to the source and stock Harley's house line of timeless sweaters, which offers all of the luxury as-good-as-it-gets quality, at a much lower price point than if it had a designer label attached to it.
We can't say enough good things about these sweaters!

ABOUT HARLEY OF SCOTLAND
ABOUT HARLEY OF SCOTLAND
Harley of Scotland was established in 1929 by Peter Harley to provide Fair Isle sweaters to local fishermen. While their wool still comes from the same hearty Scottish sheep that climb seaside cliffs and eat seaweed, they have updated their knitting practices to include a “seamless” technique, where each garment is knitted as one unit, not sewn together in pieces, making it sleeker and more durable.

- Garment measurements are in inches.
- Instructions for taking measurements are provided below. When measuring at home, please follow these instructions as closely as possible to ensure you are measuring in a similar way:
- PIT TO PIT: Lay the sweater flat on a table, and smooth out any slack in the upper part of the sweater. Place your tape measure horizontally at the seam where the left armpit meets the body of the sweater and measure across to the same spot on the right armpit.
- BOTTOM: Lay the sweater flat on a table and smooth out any slack in the bottom park of the sweater, but to not stretch the fabric. Place your tape measure horizontally at the bottom left corner of the hem of the sweater. Measure straight across (do not stretch the hem or follow the curve of the hem) to the bottom right corner of the hem.
- CENTER BACK: This measurement shows the length at the sweater's longest point. With the sweater laying flat on a table, smooth the fabric to remove slack. Tug on it gently before measuring to ensure it is as smooth as possible but do not stretch the fabric. Place the tape measure at the top center of the collar and measure straight down to the bottom of the center hem of the sweater.
- FULL SLEEVE LENGTH: Please note, this measurement takes the shoulder into consideration and is not just from the shoulder seam to the cuff. To measure the full sleeve length, lay the sweater flat on a table, back side up, and smooth out the fabric of one of the sleeves. Place the tape measure horizontally in the middle of the neckband. Measure from that point up to the top edge of the sleeve, and then down to the bottom of the sweater cuff, tacking the tape measure with your finger along the way to ensure it follows the curve of the sleeve.
